Phase Plan
In recent years, the importance of reducing CO₂ emissions has increased significantly. Our Compass to zero CO₂ connects all our sites in Austria, Italy, and Slovenia under the common goal of achieving climate neutrality. In doing so, we take into account the different conditions at each location.
Milestones on the path to Alpacem’s CO2 neutrality.
We are working in two key phases: conventional measures to minimize CO2 emissions through avoidance and the implementation of a CO2 capture plant in the future.

Conventional measures to minimize our CO2 emissions
Our phase plan already includes clearly defined milestones that will enable us to achieve a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to 2018, and our team is working hard to achieve these goals. We are currently (2025) focusing on successfully pursuing this path in all sub-projects and have already launched many projects to implement the investments necessary to achieve these goals.

Implementation of CO2 capturing
For the biggest step, which accounts for 70% of CO2 savings compared to 2018, namely CO2 capture including storage or utilization, we are already working on the site requirements for constructing such facilities (power supply, CO2 transport options, space requirements, etc.).
Currently (2025), many potential technologies are in the development phase, and we are already evaluating their implementation possibilities. Much is still unclear, but we expect that more will become known about applicable technologies and their investment and operating costs in the coming years.
