Italian cement plant Fanna is now part of the Alpacem Group
Alpacem now operates three fully integrated cement plants in the Alpe-Adria region
Klagenfurt, 10 February 2025 … The Italian cement plant Fanna in the Pordenone district and other concrete mixing plants in the region have officially been part of the Alpacem Group since 1 February 2025 following final approval by the relevant authorities. The Alpacem team will grow by more than 80 employees with the integration of the new sites. The Fanna cement plant is now the third fully integrated plant within the Alpacem Group, alongside the plants in Wietersdorf, Austria, and Anhovo, Slovenia.
The Fanna cement plant was built in 1974 and extensively modernised in 2003/2004. The annual clinker capacity is 660,000 tonnes. The raw materials for cement production are extracted from the three quarries belonging to the plant. “The integration of the Fanna cement plant and the concrete mixing plants strengthens our presence in Italy and the entire Alpe-Adria region and enables us to expand our business activities on the market and grow as the Alpacem Group,” explains Alpacem Managing Director Bernhard Auer. “At the same time, we are creating valuable synergies between our sites in order to continue producing innovative cements and concretes in the future. We are also delighted to welcome our new employees to our team,” says Alpacem Managing Director, Lutz Weber.
